Just wondering what the average costs around the country are for a major service with an engine flush?

I recently had my SRi done at an independant garage, major service all in for £180. When ringing about the prices pretty much seemed to be within £10 of each other.

When you say engine flush - do you mean flushing the oil? If so, you shouldn't do that unless it's a last resort to fix a major issue, you wouldn't have it done routinely as it can damage the engine by dislodging gunk within the engine.

I had my SRi in for a service 2 last week. local dealer charged me £190.
Think they said it was £120 for service 1 and the £190 for service 2.

Not sure whether they flush the oil or not, I recently had a 2 year service at the VX dealer, Bicknells in Worcester, I noticed they also changed all the brake fluid during this service, fitted new updated injectors, and updated software to a later version which had been released by VX since its last service, they also fitted a second updated release spring to the handbrake, and replaced a small section of brake pipe when they did the brakes because they noticed some small damage to it, which was strange as I cannot recall having anything fly up underneath which may have caused any damage. Looked like the pipe had been struck with something with a sharp edge, he actually showed me the pipe. it had a deep rough groove across it. Probably did it himself..lol, oh almost forgot, they also fitted a new rubber seal, and adjusted the passenger door, as I had mentioned I could hear a little wind noise from that side, and asked to have it checked. Lovely and quiet now.

Car drove like a dream afterwards, total cost was £224.76

Emissions service at VX Burton was £189.00, they tell me this includes a full engine flush & fuel treatment. Standard service was £159.00, so paid the extra £30

my vectra hasnt been serviced for 2 years by a garage and it still goes perfectly

I have changed oil/filter,new brake pads but thats about it,passed all mot's no problemo

I Should probably get it serviced in new year,how much would it cost,does it include parts,and what work do they do
