You can't.
Bad design IMO not to have a disable feature. The car may have a receiver for the transponder that VX baby seats have that disable it electronically. Otherwise the baby goes in the back...
I thought i remember reading you can get it turned off using Tech2...........![]()
Could be able via Tech 2, but then you have permanently disabled a safety feature. I am not sure how the legislators or insurance would view that, especially if you piled it up with an adult in the front passenger seat. Also, there may be issues of conscience over disabling it.
Happened to be looking at this myself, my Vectra handbook has a detailed chart in it stating exactly what /where child seats can go. Certainly states that child seats must NOT be placed in the front & preferably one of the outer rear seats.

I'm going to need to fit a Baby seat in March '09, and I was hoping there would be a diable feature, there is on the Astra's at work, but what about the airbag side cushion along the sides?? I've got an Sri with 6 airbags, would that cause probs if the baby seat was fitted to one of the outermost rear seats? Cheers.![]()
no they are fine there, the side and seat cushions apparently don't go off with the same force as the front. I've got a Maxi Cosi in one of the outer seats and a Maxi Tobi on the other. They are both an excellent fit for the SRi seats by the way for when you are choosing.
