    Default Window wipers

    yo guys,

finally sorted the issue to why the washers weren’t working, the pipe at the bottom of the water tank had fallen out, anyways I just wanted to know if these commands are all correct for the washer stalk

Pull towards - rear washer + rear wiper
Push forwards - front washers (does not seem to be activating wipers)
Hold down (right) - wipers move until user lets go (which stops the wipers where they are, and not return to base)
Push up (left) 1 stage - medium strength wipers
Push up (left) 2 stages - strong strength wipers

    Cant seem to get intermittent
and when I want to stop the washers (i.e. push down/right) the blades just stop and don’t return to the base position

Does all this sound correct ???

Do you have a little dial on top of the stalk? And do you have a little yellow light under your mirror that shines on the ashtray/gear lever?

You dont have intermittent then. You have the sight and light pack which means you have rain sensitive wipers.

Pulling the stork should wash wipe the fronts, pushing it should do the rear. The wipers should always park, even if you turn the ignition off half way through.

thought so, hmm, I have it booked in to the main stealers on Friday morning, but I thought I could get some info from here first.

so what does the sight and light pack give me, doesn’t that mean that it should auto turn on the wipers when its raining, because if that the case then does not work ether

One click up turns them on to auto, the roller makes them more sensitive. Your sensor might be duff. Its behind the mirror. Lock the car with the windows open and pour some water over the sensor, your windows should go up by themselves, or you could just switch to auto with ignition on and do the same, the wipers should engage. Just out of interest, have you ever seen your dials drop on the dash, or TC/ABS lights come on but reset itself when you turn ignition off and on?

I'd say you have a problem with some main compnent, as the wipers are doing the opposite they're supposed to. Pull towards should wash the front and turn the wipers on. If you have Auto-Wipers, then the first push up should turn them on, and then they'll be rain sensitive. no rain, no wipers. And as Rushy sais, they should always return to the stop whatever you do, and when you wash the window they should wipe too. So I'd say something definintely wrong somewhere, with whatever controls everything- probably the CIM...
