    Default high mileage v6 cdti

    Hi Guys,

I'm new here and looking to get a signum v6 cdti. I've driven a couple and think they are great cars especially teamed with the v6!

I'm just wondering what sort of mileage they are good for. Idealy I want a low mileage but have seen one with 96,000 miles for what seems to be a good price.

    Any thoughts?

    Thanks

    Jay

I wouldn't worry about milage if the car has got its full service history.
Oil burners will last 100's of 1000's of miles if the oil and filters are changed frequently.
Service history is a must !!!

Thanks Fil. What about other parts, like gearbox, shocks, etc etc?

If it's done high mileage (and 96K isn't high IMO) in a short space of time, then it will probably be motorway mileage which is fairly kind on components like gearbox, clutch, suspension and engine.

very little seems to go wrong with them. Rear shocks can be a weak point on all the vectras and Signums. If they mention that its been remapped or had a tuning box then think twice although you won't be able to tell if its had one and its been removed. Also don't expect massive MPG, low to mid 30's round town and low to mid 40's on a long journey. hth

Oh yeah, forgot about the cambelt. 100k or 10 years normally, although it may have been done sooner if not already. Most places want £300+ to do the job as well.
