    Default very strange handling........

    2.2dti 02 - c

    02 plate.

    mileage - 103,000

the cars handling has totally gone to pot, I've had the tyre noise for quite a while but it seems to be getting worse and time goes on.

It feels like the wheels are loose at slow speed.

Is there a check I should carry out or something?

I've had the rear control arms and front track rods and one rear wheel bearing all replaced between 103k and 80k.

please ask any questions - help is appreciated.

    Let's start with:

What make and size of tyres and how much tread on them?

Handling cr_ap in a staright line or in corners or both?

One or more duff shock absorbers?

CV / UJ driveshaft joints mate, they make a funny old noise when they are loose but centralise themselves when moving rapidly.
Simple answer is to get it on a hoist and eyeball all the steering and joints etc. Sorry cant be a bit more concise but look now at your leisure because if a wheel drops off it will be expensive!!

    Tracking ??

The Vec-C is 4-wheel alignment and after the control arms being replaced, etc, it could knock it out....the tracking needs to be done..I did it on my ex-Vec-C after the control arms and rear ARB bushes!

If all else seems OK, start with this? Cheap way to eliminate this!

hopefully - I will see if I have a problem...?

got a voucher a while ago from drive in bury (BOO) to have a winter safety check but didnt really want to take the car there.

just got the same voucher from thurlow nunn but for 15 quid more. got on the phone and they will price match.

so the car is booked in on the 24th.

so for 20 quid they will check all of the car over, top up any fluids and give me a winter kit.......BARGIN.....good old thurlow nunn (kings lynn).

You asked us to ask questions, so we answered - guess we weren't of any help then?

    very narrow minded answer.......

everybody pointed out that there could be quite major issues, so I retified the problem by booking it in at my vx dealer to check out......

if you said....dave - theres nothing to worry about - I would of done nothing.

if you expected a personal message - please accept my sincerest apologies for not providing one.

To everybody else who replied - Many thanks and I will update my post as soon as I have feedback from VX.

    cheers
