I believe that Technika are Tesco's in house electronics brand, brought my daughter an LCD TV with a built in DVD and had no problems with it what so ever.

Think they are a Tesco home brand, web site showing out of stock. I was looking at something like this that would run 240v/12v for use in a caravan (don't have a caravan at the minute but toying at getting a cheap one next year)

Yep, Tesco sell a number of their products - possibly exclusively.

Don't expect any decent quality, their products consistently get poor write-ups. The stuff is cheap as chips, although some not always, but the quality isn't good.

Just depends what you're expecting our of it/want to use it for. If it's half-decent quality then I'd look elsewhere and pay a bit more.

They have about 8 of them in my local store today, thats where I saw it, as I am looking for a TV/DVD combo for the bedroom

http://www.unbeatable.co.uk/product/.../38106536.html - a flavour of the sort of reviews from people on their products.

It's budget priced kit for a reason.

EDIT: It 'may' be okay for the bedroom if quality isn't too much of a concern, but I'd see if you can at least try one out in the store with a DVD film that you're familiar with. The reliability is the other issue though.

I've got a Technika 19" LCD TV (with built in freeview and DVD player). Apart from the remote control which could have had the buttons laid out better, its been fine so far. Picture is clear enough, several different inputs, PC, HDMI, Scart, etc.

As said Tesco's in-house Audio/Video brand. Bought my mother a 32" Freeview LCD TV for £299. Very good for the price and well equipped with in/out sockets.

not a bad "low budget" product actually, although my local tesco's had the 22" in for £229 i think a few weeks back...ideal for the bedroom!
