There are so many to choose from now though. We have a samsung and are pleased with it. Is it an LCD you are thinking of getting.
whats best LCD or plasma ???
There are so many to pick from, its just personel preference really but just watch what you buy !!!!!!!
sorry i'll get my coat....
Right.
Plasma is more expensive, but burn, e.g. if your watching footy, and the little thing in the top of the screen stays there....it burns the screen.
So i'd go for LCD...
And the only "manufacturers" are really Sony and LG...you just pay for the name with LG
So go for the best resulotion with the best reviews from either of those
If possible wait until the middle of January
You will then be able to haggle really hard
I would also budget to include a three or five year warranty (optical block failure alone will pretty much write off the TV)
42", a quick search and I found several locally for just under £500
Personally, I prefer the black ones which have little, no, or a removable branding on the front, and no power light (as it is very distracting)
Plasma screens dont burn anymore, had my Panny for 2 years and never ever had a problem, and ive had the news channels on for hours on end with all the static text everywhere.
There are so many things to consider, plasma dosent suffer with any ghosting so if you are watching fast paced things you get no blur whatsovver, LCD's can suffer badly with ghosting.
Everyone will have there choice its best to go and look at reviews etc and ask on www.avforums.com as thats a good place to ask advice
Hi m8 if you can get one then a samsung series 7 is the best picture I have seen and I look at them every day! Have seen it at £799 with blueray player, so shop around and you might find it for around £700. Would def go for a LCD rather than Plasma, they are lighter so easier to hang, they can be layed flat when moving (unlike Plasma) screen burn can happen but not as easy as Plasma and can be rectified with a baloon charged with static electricity wiped across the screen ( have seen this done by tv engineer). Main manufacturers to go for would be Samsung (higher range),Panasonic ,Lg and Sony but for that money def 1080p definition. Cheers
