    Default Warranty period

Can anyone tell me how long a May 2006 Vectra would be covered by a Vauxhall warranty? I bought it when it was a year old and got a Network Q warranty with it, however is there any additional warranty on the car from the manufacturer? (PAS light has come on and its only done 34000)

    TIA

    Joe

As above...you've got until May 2009 so you can still get the car fixed under warranty till then.

Thanks guys - car is behaving like a bag of spanners. Have to say I've always driven big Citroens and have never had a bit of bother. Don't think I'd buy another Vauxhall.

and you have never had any problems with a citroen? citroens are the biggest pile of s**e of car you can buy, just because you have a simple fault that can affect any make of car why dont you book it in and get it fixed,i have had less problems and found vauxhalls a lot easier to fix than any citroen,my last citroen i had to scrap it as it would have cost more than the car was worth,if it had been a vauxhall it would have been fixed for around £100-£200,because it was a citroen a minimum £700

Since you purchased the car through Network Q only one of the 2nd and 3rd year optional years apply
Your Network Q warranty then applies when each complete year expires
So it really depends on when you purchased the car

My own car is a 01 June 2005
I purchased it in November 2006, which is halfway through the 2nd optional year, so the third optional year does not apply, the manufacturers warranty expired on 31 May 2007
The Network Q warranty then applied from 01 June 2007 to 31 May 2008
However, I purchased a Complete Protection Plan, so I received the Network Q paperwork and then a cancellation notice (as the cover is far superior) for the original warranty and Network Q

    I'm confused now.

My car was registered in November 2007.

I bought it in March 2008 so have Network Q until March 2009?

When that expires I thought that the Manufacturers warranty was still valid until November 2010?

I was under the impression that the NetworkQ warranty ran for 1 year from your purchase date and
then reverted back to the remainder of the manufacturers warranty.

That's how all of my previous NetQ cars have worked.

networq warranty runs in addition to vauxhall warranty and does not replace the vauxhall warranty, vauuxhall do not cancel the warranty because your network q warranty has run out, that will run out after 3 years or 60k whichever comes first (excluding 1st year)

Eh? That's complete cobblers!!! The Vx warranty is 60,000 miles/3 years regardless of what additional warranty is on the car or when it was bought. It's three years warranty - end of. Your Vx warranty would have expired end of May 2008

If a car is bought with a Net Q warranty on it, that runs from the time the car was supplied with that warranty for 12 months and runs concurrently with the Vx warranty. Thw whole point of the Net Q warranty being supplied with used cars is that it offers cover on some things (like brake pads/discs etc.) that the Vx warranty wouldn't - so the buyer knows that any issues will be sorted.

Exactly. They will claim on the Net Q policy first if there's one in place, then the VX warranty subsequently.
