Rear ashtray

Hi - just bought an 08' Vectra CDTi SRi and noticed today that the rear ashtray is missing. Does anyone know roughly how much these are to replace ... or should I be cheeky and ask the dealer to provide me with one, it's only 7 months old and I've only had the car a week!!

Be cheeky and ask the dealer! Nothing to lose?!
Shouldn't think they're too expensive but sure one of the gurus can find the part numbers...

Try the dealer, if they've got any sort of decent customer service they'll sort you out.

I cable tied mine shut, got fed up of it dropping down!!

Ashtrays and cigar lighters are no longer supplied as standard. The nanny EU state now dictates how the interior of a car should be specified. Some dealers now prohibit smoking in their open-air forecourts.

I'm sorry - but why would it be cheeky to ask for a missing part on a 7 mth old car ?
Tell em they can have the car back , then watch how fast they run to the parts department

Nothing wrong at all with asking. If you don't ask.........

I was told when they first stopped fitting ashtrays, that they wouldn't even 'throw them in' on a new car.

Sounding stupid, have you checked for it under the front seats? The rear ashtray is quite poor and easily gets knocked out. Then they roll under the seat.

To be honest the rear ashtray is pretty useless.
