Have got 6 points already from 30mph Truvelo style cameras in Dunstable...apparently these are slightly unique in Beds as most Truvelos do you going away from them but these do you coming towards and flash (most Truvelo's are IR flash and don't flahs bright i am told). These are deffo Truvelo and not Gatso and have 4 white lines on the road.

(Lowther Road, near Queensbury School etc)

I have 'seen other drivers' go past these cameras in Dunstable in the opposite direction to that the camera is facing above the speed limit many times without getting done.

However last night, I was fiddling with my settings on the CR1 and pulled out of a junction headed towards the camera in the opposite direction to the way it faced but there was a parked car opposite the camera so as I went round the park car my vehicle went part way over the white lines on the other side of the road and the camera went off and flashed !!?

Have no idea if I will get done, as I say these usually do u coming towards as the lines are only on that side of the road.

Am already on 6 points from a 36mph where they turned a camera round on Lowther Road after about a year of it pointing one way and the other a 40 mph where I'd had a particularly bad day and hold my hand up to not being fully attentive.

Truvelos work either way round and most of the ones I've seen face the front of the car. I believe some ruling about invasion of privacy had to be changed so that they could take pics from the front. I've read that they work off of sensors in the road as opposed to the radar of Gatso cameras.

Just take your ****in number plates off the car... period.

You will get the same number of points if the cops see you. But thats rare so it must be worth the chance....

If you do get stopped, just say, they've been nicked...

the Truvelo camera does not flash mate(not visible anyway) so maybe what you saw was your rear lights(if it was dark) reflecting in the Red lense on the camera.They always look like they slightly flash when u drive through them facing forward due to the reflection from that red glass.

Im not convinced that the camera would have caught you though. they have strips below the tramac that measure your speed.

. From looking at a camera before i could see where they had layed these strips in the road and they only came out 2 meters from the kurb so it depends how far you went over onto the other side of the road and it you triggered every strip

With them 3 strips id assume that 1 would be the start time,2 half way and 3 would be your end time but as you went through it ars about face then it might not have even picked you up(thats just my theory tho)
