ABS Light?

Is the abs light supposed to come on when the abs is actually working? I.e when you brake hard enough for it to come on.

My abs light comes on with the ignition, but I noticed the other night when I braked over a sheet of ice and the abs kicked in, that the light didn't come on.

Used to in some of my old cars but not sure if it does on the Vec?

(and I can't find the manual before anyone suggests that! )

Just looked it up in the handbook and it says it should come on with the ignition while it does its checks etc. The only time it will light up while driving is if their is a fault with the system. so yours sounds like it's working properly.

Its the first time since I've had the car (1 year) that I've felt the ABS come on, so was expecting the light to flicker like it did in my previous cars.

Now, where the hell is that manual!
