Question I want a new camera.

Ok, i'm looking for a nice in-expensive digital SLR camera that isn't difficult to use and don't want functions that i'll never use.

(Not asking for much am i ?)

I've more or less made my mind up on buying a Nikon D60 which has some good reviews.

Can any of you more experienced photographers give me your thoughts on this model or are there better for the same/similar £££ ?

Consider the Olympus E420. It's a nice compact little camera, proper image stabilisation built in, and very good standard lenses.

I have an older and bigger E-510, and use an even older E-500 at work.

This is going to come down to personal choice and pound notes.
I looked long and hard earlier this year and bought a Pentax K10d. Cracking camera. Always up for a deal, I sold my old prosumer Fuji, and convinced the local Jessops store to match best internet prices for the camera, 2nd lense and a battery grip. Go on haggle.

I've just bought my daughter one of them Canon EOS 450D's for xmas, and all the reviews are excellent. Apparently for the price it's hard to beat.

I'm thinking of getting one of these very soon. £50 cashback up until 12th Jan.

If buying new i would go for the Canon 450d with cashback, but try it first as it is a little small whereas the nikons in my opinion fell a lot better in the hand.

For info i have just bought my 1st dslr, after many recommendations i went for a 2nd hand Nikon D200 from a guy near me, they are going for approx £400 body only, i then managed to get a new 18-55vr lense for £85 delivered.

If you want a good forum have a look at totalphotography.

I bought myself the Cannon 400D back in the summer and find it really good. I have found the best place for lenses is Ebay as I have had 2 decent zoom lenses off there and saved a fortune.
