What engine vectra do they use?
And is the 3.0 CDTI much quicker than the 1.9(150)????
And will there be any high performace(v6) engines on the new insignia?
Thanks!

They used to use 3.2 V6 GSi's or SRi's with the 3.2 specially put in for them. In the Thames Valley area they now use the 2.8 V6 Turbos.
IIRC, mostly the VXR engine, manual box, with SRi trim (at least in Thames Valley) but each force differs, each to their own as they say.
EDIT - beat me to it (again).
Too slow. lol.
SVO spec is 2.8V6T with manual 6-speed, Elite rims, SRI interior.
They do an SRi-based 1.9CDTi and there seems to be a few V6-CDTi ones floating about too. The PSNI has a load of SRi based 2.2Direct cars as well.
There's a writeup on the SVO spec cars in Total Vauxhall a few months ago.
As above, I work for TVP, they've got 2.8 and 2.2 depending on their role. Still might have some 3.2's floating around but not sure now.
in wiltshire they are now using f**ds,they used to use hondas, they have other makes but very few vauxhalls
Aye, PSNI have got a few pieces of **** 1.6 Focus Estates now, and a huge rash of Octavias. 2.0TDi Octavias, wonderful stuff.![]()
I think the police around this way (North Norfolk) used to have Vectra C pre-facelifts, 1.9 diesels. Now... all of their marked cars are mostly new Mondeo's, and the un-marked and new Focus'!
Ford ****e.
