    Default mis-alignment of steering cowel

Anyone else find their steering wheel cowling doesn't sit parallel to the clock facia asit were, find it damn annoying when things don't line up!!

Just found that with the height adjuster released and if I push upwards on the RHD side of cowling and at the same time push up the height adjuster lever i.e locking into position, then it all seems to line up ok, now wondering if the cowelling needs removing and re-aligning somehow?

My mate had this in his old Exclusiv.

Basically the car had been in a smash previously and with the impact, "the collapsable steering column obviously callapsed.

Anyway, he figured in the end that when the garage re-bolted the steering column to the frame, they missed off a big washer, which left the steering column/cowling slightly mis-aligned from the right side, similar to what is the situ with your's!

Has your's been in a smash or stolen previosly??

Not that I know of and I 've had the car checked over by my brother (expert in the bodywork field )for accident damage when I bought the car and according to him no panels etc have been changed. Is it straight forward enough to get the cowling off?
