Soon to update my CD70 navi software

I've ordered the upgrade disc and await it in the post - however I was wondering if anyone has any tips/advice/warnings before I carry this out?

I've read some horror stories - and having checked the manual, there is no such mention of an upgrade (guessing it'll come with the disc).

How does it generally take place?

Put the disc in mate and wait, it takes a few minutes to complete. DON'T turn ignition off and let it completely run. HTH

Bit like loading software on your PC. Let the disc load and run, even when you think it's finished, leave it a while. Have a drink or whatever to pass the time, then go back.

What update date are you putting in? Let us know what is new if you have the latest.

It'll be the 2008/09 one I think - will double check the disc to make sure. Is this something that might be a problem?

dont think there is a newer one than 2007/10 at the moment, checked with my dealers but no mention of anything newer.

If its the 08/09 map disc then there is no actual update - just leave the new disc in the NAVI drive to replace an older map disc.
If it is indeed the software update disc then it still goes in the NAVI drive and prompts you to update. Takes 10-15 minutes. Then eject and put the original map disc back in.
