Default need some help with this

took my car to AUTOLEC SERVICE and they stuck it on a code reader and this is what came back
    (as printed on the sheet)
1)-no communication with steeringwheel angle sensor (cim)
2)-data from body control module -BCM-(incorrect signal)
    3)-U2113- not registered code
4)-CAN message from engine control unit no communication
5)-loss of serial data communication of ABS/TCS
    6)-u2111-not registeredcode

dose anybody no what all this means and maybe what the fault could be as all they could tell me was it has a can fault and the car would have to be rip a part to find the fault and that id be looking several hundreds of pound to do so which i dont have just before christmas

    thanks for looking

OK, ignoring the fault codes for the moment - what is actually wrong with the car in terms of symptoms etc.?

Fault codes can be thrown up sporadically when a reading is out of range for some reason and never cause an issue/come back again - so a bunch of logged fault codes doesn't tell too much without knowing what your problems are.

What were your problems/symptons before you took it in? A bit more info might help us help you.

Obviously something prompted you to do it .

EDIT - beaten to it by Duncan (again and again and again).

OK, that 'may' be a CIM module as what you've described is symptomatic of a dodgy CIM.

But before you go out shelling out for a new one, as they are about £300, you need a proper diagnosis/confirmation that it is faulty. A bloke at an Autolec printing out a bunch of fault codes is not a diagnosis - any monkey with a code reader can do that.

Yep, I thought about that when I posted beore - I just wasn't sure if you'd get all those symptoms with that? For the sake of giving it a clean etc., certainly worth trying first.
