Cruise Control Issue

Folks,

Last night i put the cruise cotnrol on whilst driving at 30mph,I then went into a 40mph zone so used the cruise control button to accelerate to 40. However the car staretd to jump and the cruise control switched off. This happened 3 times in a row, and again this morning.

The car accellerates normally when not using the cruise and no warning lights appear on the dash.

Anybody have any ideas?

Dirty stalk contacts? A spray with electrical contact cleaner and rapid switching for a little while may help.

Thanks for the reply, I will give that a try, Car is still under warrenty so failling the spray, its the dealers

mine will do that if its in to lower gear

This was in 3rd gear, so should have been fine. Strangely enough it didn't happen this lunchtime.

Also think its to do with 30 mph. i think this is the lowest speed you can set it at, so it could be possible that when you tried to increase it, it momenteraly drops out off cc. Try it at say 33 mph then increase your speed with the button.
