...and strangle somebody????

Grrrrrr.....

Just got off the phone with this eejit from Roxburgh (debt enforcers) over an unpaid parking ticket.

Thing is it's not my ticket, not my car and never has been. Will they accept that over the phone? Will they heck, "DVLA have told us that the vehicle is registered to you".

How many times can you tell them that it's not and they should check again as there is obviously an error somewhere? "I'm not checking anything mate, why would DVLA lie?", who said anything about lying? It's a mistake the car is not now and never has been mine!!!!

"So are you going to pay the fine?" - Are you going to stick your nuts in a meat grinder?

"Ok then we'll be asking the court to issue you with a judgement!" - Fine, just make sure you check your facts first because you will lose.

"Are you sure you don't want to pay the fine?" - Absoloutely.

"But you will have a CCJ against you" - No I wont it's not my car.

"Yes it is, the DVLA say it is" - No it's not, there has been a mistake, contact DVLA and double check.

"I'm not contacting anybody except the court" - That's ok with me, you go right ahead and do that, do you like egg?

"Sorry?" - Do you like egg on your face?

"Er why?" - Just please issue the summons, come and serve it yourself. You'll see my car parked outside my house, it's the one with a different registration number to the one you want to fine me for.

"Ok" - click.

Had to pay fines on a cloned plate car 3 years ago (running around London, police nicked him, immigrant, no licence no nothing). Or else we had to go to court (what happened to innocent until guilty).

Still waiting for our money back 3 years later.
Strange how the councils don't want to know when they owe you but, when you owe them...

I once managed to get £110 worth of gift vouchers out of John Lewis just for not being in when they tried to deliver a TV!!

Good on yer Neil, the bast*rds are trying to scare you int paying!! just make sure that you dont get a CCJ that isnt cleared off straight away, heard bad things if they aren't.

i saw something on watch dog a little while back about DVLA scewing things up - i think it was license entiltlements. wouldn't surprise me if they have screwed it up!!

I'll be phoning the DVLA tomorrow when their support line opens. It's obvious to me that there's been some sort of clerical or database error either at DVLA or Roxburgh. I'll ask the DVLA to send me some sort of proof that the vehicle in question is not registered to me (if they can do that) and send it off with the summons when it arrives.

I have had a few dealings because of the previous house owner. I just ignore them, its less frustrating in the long run.

You can tell them till you are blue in the face and they still won't believe you. The letters keep coming and you waste alot of time/money and effort trying to tell them its not you. But you may as well not bother!

Sky wanted £10 off me for cancelling without the correct notice given(30days).
That was two years ago and I still get letters asking for the £10. The irony is that they took two payments out of my account(without my consent) after I had cancelled, totalling £36. I have tried explaining but they say pay the £10 then write in and claim the money back.

They just pass the debt off to an agency who try and hound you into paying. I just laugh as it costs them every time they send another letter.

With these sort of things I will explain something in writing once, after that I ignore everything. Life is too short to suffer these morons!

we had the same at our house - which we bought 3 1/2 years ago!!

stil get letters aimed at previous owners, after a while we opened them and we reckon that they left behind about £25k of debt before giong to Ozz!!

It is so infuriting when you get some nerd with a script, you say the wrong thing and they are flumoxxed, so they just repeat themselves ... irritating ....

You stick to your guns mate, though, at least you know you're in the right - can't believe there is anything they can do in this case, surely? Bl00dy idiots!!

............Although I did find it mightily amusing when my ex got a summons for a string of parking fines 'earned' by a clone of the car he had written off six months previously!!!!.........
