    Eek Southern Ireland diesel prices.

Just back from my trip to donegal and filled up with diesel and in todays money it cost 83p a litre compared to what we are charged here in the north of ireland it is 104p

so we are getting hammered again

it cost me €50 to fill the tank which is £42!!!!

Also on my run up there i got the best MPG i have got in my 3.0 v6 CDTI have a look.

Can't say I miss my DERV - 88.9p and 38mpg is fine by me. 15p a litre dearer for DERV compared to unleaded, plus you don't smell like a truck driver all day after refuelling.

BIG_NEIL, I would imagine aswell that Donegal is a bit more expensive than further down south where we are.

What was the price per litre?

I'm getting it locally here for 99.9c/litre. A few months back it was about €1.20/litre but we have all seen drops in the pump prices lately. However, the exchange rate for you to buy € at the moment is not as good as it was so it would have been relatively cheaper per litre a few months back.

You guys are defo getting screwed on the petrol/diesel for sure but we are getting shafted on everything else. You must see a lot of southern cars around your neck of the woods these days doing their shopping? I've been up to Lisburn a few times myself this year myself.

Cheapest place I've ever seen was in Gweedore in Donegal. Its 98.9c in tesco in Dublin. But as you rightly say we get screwed for everything else

Boba it was €98.9 in the garage i got it in Donegal and even with the pound being so poor still works out about 83 pence per litre

Yes mate a lot of southern guys up round here doing the crimbo shopping but again this has to do with the weak pound.
suppose as you say we are better of with some things

but i think if you look back between the north and the south things have always been a bit like this ,i remember back in the day(giving my age away lol)the shops up here at xmas time accepting the old punts and a lot of people even then coming up to do the xmas shopping, and people including myself going into the south for fuel.
