Vauxhall - Restart of Vectra or Signum?

A few months ago you could only buy a new vectra 'as was already built' - you could just pick from a list of prebuilt - but go great discount.

Just looked at the VX web site and you can and now pick and build right down to the colours again.

Why have they brought this back - going back to production or just getting rid of the vectra bits from the factory?


Also notice on VX central stock 57/08 plate signums ???

Maybe the Insignia is being delayed so they've continued production?

Reason I ask is that I was offered a really knock down discount on a prebuilt - could only pick an SRI vec - so turned it down.
Looks like I could get a 3.0 cdti elite vectra -
MMMMMM - wonder what the vx dealer would say if I asked for the same discount percentage on an elite vect they offered my last time on a pre built sri vec??

They are not building again, the website is still showing the Vectra s in theory it is still available, but the production has stopped.

Insigina production has started for dealer cars, the first run of customer cars starts the first week of January.

I see that GM have been trying hard very hard to sell SAAB (and maybe FIAT?)

Wonder what will happen if GM / Vaux go down the pan?
Loads of vec with no dealer warranty??

VX/Opel will not be allowed to go down the pan, as it is the core brand of GM Europe.

Saab, however, are pretty much stuffed. Either someone buys them (errrm who? bearing in mind all the GM parts in them) or a Management buyout, which would be a re-run of Rover, or just outright closure. It won't happen overnight, but there isn't a rosy future for Saab at the moment.

I only paid 16.5k for my car new , with the optional extra's i ordered it with should have been just a smidgen under £25k...!! it wasn't a prebuilt car either, I ordered it in may and took delivery in Sept..!!

That was a year ago, so you should be able to get a good deal now..
