    Default An age thing

As of to-day I can now get
    1 Free bus rides
    2 10% discount at B&Q / Focus
    3 A winter fuel payment
    4 Free prescriptions

I can now wear a flat cap.and a wooly cardigan, and drop my dinner down my shirt front. In addition to this I can forget something or make a mistake and call it a senior moment.
and I only have 5 years to go and I can pack up work,
Hopefully young ladies will help me across the road,
will get more grey hair [if that is possible] and go bald
I only hope I do not get incontanent and smell of P

Don't forget to cash the bus tokens in if you get them up your way.

Welcome to the over 60 club matey, only as old as you feel.

I'm 66 and still find plenty to occupy me, in fact most days I feel there just is not enough hours in the day. I would say I lead a more fuller life than I did before retirement. My wife and I have at least several holidays a year, including spending a few months of the year in a holiday cottage we bought 2 years ago. I was fortunate to be able to afford to cease work almost completely at 60 when I passed our business over to the 2 sons, we wrote a list of things we would like to do before our demise and we are slowly working our way through it.
I went grey in my late twenties, but its only more recently that the old hair is getting a little thinner in places, but what the hell, does it matter.. of course not! Some say the brain slows down as you get older, but having said that, earlier this evening I filled in a quick brain test questionire on the BBC website entitled would you pass the 11-plus, a series of brain ticklers which have to be completed within a time limit.
    http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/magazine/7773974.stm
It took me less then half the allocated time with all answers marked correct, so the old brainbox must still be working reasonably well.

The secret to retirement is keeping active if possible, enjoy the leisure time getting plenty of holidays in with a loving partner helps, after all your've worked all your life, and maybe saved a little, so that when you cease work completely you can enjoy the fruits of the many years of hard grafting. Spend it, Enjoy it, Dont leave it behind for others!

Oh.... almost forgot... totally ignore the young the anti-old-folk brigade on here who think anyone over 40 should be in a coffin.

BTW did you manage to just squeeze in get the £250 winter fuel payment for this year?
