    Default Shoddy

Well had my car in eden vauxhall Exeter today for the handbrake recall and oil and filterand what can i say SHODDY
Got 2 miles away from the garage and car with spanner light came on just going up telegraph hill outside lane and bam no power sprinter van swerved around me and i had to bang hazards on and pull over, rang my bro and he said to make sure the plug to the egr valve was on as if they have done and oil and filter they may have not put it on proparly or caught it when removing filter.
Anyways plug was hanging off so plugged it back in and hey presto back to normal all though plug seems to pull off easy
So got home and thought id check what they had done only to find oil all over the oil filter casing and a torx bolt missing off engine cover

Waiting for manager to ring me back (seems thats all ive been doing last few days)

Thats absolutely w4nk. I would phone Vx Customer Serv's and make a complaint. Take some picture's mate of the oil, filter, torx missing and the plug hanging off!

Had that Srpinter been any closer, couldve been fatal!

Just off phone manager is very upset as the way the work has been carried out and has arranged for my car to be picked up and a courtesy car dropped off,he has said they will stick some fuel in my car and redo oil and filter clean it off and replace torx bolt plus as a gesture of good will he will leave a free mot voucher in my car

Now is this good enough for nearly killing myself and my good misses or should i complain more

I think the manager is doing his job and offering to do what he has I would be happy.

However he is not the spanner monkey that was let loose on your car.

I would insist on having a meeting with the mechanic so you can ask him first hand why he thinks this is an acceptable way to go about his work and to let him realise how close his crap*y workmanship has come to causing a major accident.

I would also want the manager to sit in to listen so he can give the bloke the rollicking he deserves.

Would he treat his own car like this!!!!!

This is why I try and do whatever work I can on cars and bikes because its a lottery on wether the mechanic has had a row with his mrs last night and takes it out on your pride and joy

    Rant on your behalf over

    Jon
