    Default ABS light

My 52 reg 2.0 diesel vectra has ABS light coming on intermedently. But when it's on it stays on for the remainder of the drive. Had it diagnosed that the front nearside sensor needed changing. Bought a new sensor which comes together with the whole hub and had it replaced over the weekend. The light still comes on. Diagnostics gives same reading. Local garage says that the new sensor might have been faulty? Any views please.

Mine does it too, doesn't come on during my normal commute but last week i drove to Birmingham and back over the weekend and the ABS light was on for some of the way. My mate said that the wheel sensor is magnetic and can pick up little bits of metal swarf causing the light to come on, this can be fixed by careful cleaning. I've not cleaned mine yet due to the weather but i'll give it a try and hopefully it'll cure it.
