"FAST" Marina...
Well, the 1.7 wasn't that bad compared to Escorts etc.
Oh, no - wait a minute - it was. Got mixed up there for a moment. I get confused between the Marina and the Hillman Avenger...
Mine's the one with the vinyl roof kit and Morris badge in the pocket...
I can see their point to an extent. The car was sold by a member on ebay to the BBC who seemed to intimate in an exchange of emails that it would not be trashed.
But as someone mentions in the thread if you sell a car you have no say in what happens to it afterwards and given what normally happens on to older cars on TG it was fairly predictable it would meet it's maker.
Reminds me of the bloke who saw his Capri (IIRC) that had been nicked the week before being used as a crash mat for some stunt or other on one of Noel Edmonds' shows.
TG's record of doing things like that is well known - the Maserati BiTurbo, for example, springs to mind.
just read the whole thing, even the link's to other site's............sell something and you have no say on what will happen to it...common sense realy
ha~ho, was funny
I have to agree with them tbh, it was a clean example of an old car, ok so it wasn't the best car in it's day but ppl do love them and to see a good example effectively wiped out is poor form to say the least.
Did seem a waste ..obviously some poor guy had spent alot of time looking after that car ...dont think it deserved to be destroyed like that
