power socket in boot

i have wired a power socket in the boot for a dvd player , i took the live from the fuse box in the boot , above the 40 amp fuse, however when i start the car it loses power for a second so the dvd goes off and you have to start again, is there a better place to get a live feed from ,other than off the battery.

thats what i have done , its not live when the key is turned starting the engine ?

ive done that with my dvd-players.. no problem there....

wonder if i run an extension from my rear cig lighter to a new one.. that should work ??

There should be a permanat feed behind stereo for the stereo memory???maybe.
