Clarkson's review of the new Insignia.

Typical Clarkeson, he's not even given it a proper write up, just talking about large cars and the current climate, something that every manufacturer is suffering from.
And he also picks the model which will probably sell in the least numbers. It would have been nice to see him review a 2.0 CDTi SRi etc.
i wouldn call that a review the first 15 paragraphs were not even about the car, then said its better than the vectra but doesn give reasons why and says no one will want one. think clarkson gets worse as he gets older
So Jeremy - what was the drive like - etc etc .?
All those sort of things you want from a review of a car - - sadly 90% dribble about the state of the worlds economy -
I shall await a test drive at my local vx - make up my mind and save up to either buy one or buy a house and keep the signum !!
He is wrong...............................period!
That Clarkson guy really does my nut! The first dozen paragraphs he waffles on about nothing...as usual. Then at last we get a mention of the Insignia (at last) and surprise surprise he doesn't like it. This paragraph was a loada bo**ocks, "But asking their dealerships to sell such a thing in today’s world is a bit like asking men in the first world war trenches to charge the enemy’s machinegun nests with spears". When Vauxhall had already started producing the Insignias as i recall things weren't anywhere near as bad as they are at the moment what with the credit crunch, job losses etc etc. Yep perhaps it's a right bad time to introduce a brand new car to the public but what option do Vauxhall have? The Vectra and Signum are no more bless 'em. The future (for the time being anyway) is the Insignia. I for one wish Vauxhall the best of luck with it. Obviously i haven't driven one but i do know this, to me it looks an astounding car AND i want one!
As for that Clarkson guy..shut up!
nothing vauxhall ever does impresses clarkson much, whereas ford? they can do no wrong. i've heard it said he's on ford's payroll. i wouldn't go that far, but he has had a few cars on permanent loan in the past - the escort cosworth, a couple of jags and of course the gt40, so they do look after him. i think he's great, but accept he'll never like vauxhalls.![]()
New models is ABSOLUTELY the best thing to do when the market has stalled.
