    Default Rain X.....

    Hi,

What do you guys think of Rain X?

I cleaned my windows yesterday making sure that the windscreen was perfect and applied Rain X to it, i bought the tub of wipes fron Halfords on offer down from £4.99 to £2.99.

So i thought i would give it a go!

I think its rubbish, i might as well of put collinite 915 on the screen!! it was raining this morning and the screen had a film on it and the wipers were juddering and making a loud screaching noise!! What have i done??? I'm well peed off!!

Oh, by the way i suppose its ok on the side wndows!

Is it the same for everyone?

    Cheers,
    Roy

I use it Roy and it has the exact opposite effect. I clean the windows first and then apply Rain X. You have to then either buff it or soak it with plenty water for it to work. I've always done the latter.

Wipers have never judded and the windows crystal clear.

I use it only on the windscreen.

get some vinegar and wipe your blades, its ok if the glass is clean but not if wipers are dirty

What do you mean 'soak it with water' Steve?

I did buff it as it went all hazy.

    The screen was sparkling!

Dont know what ive done wrong!

Only way ive found rainX to work well, is clean the glass apply the rainX, wipe it bone dry and reapply 2 or 3 times

I stopped using it years ago, when i found a spud cut in half works exactly the same

    give it a try

Used Rain-X for a number of years now, this might sound daft but I use it on all windows APART from the front windscreen. I found the wiper blades just made a hideous noise when it was used.

I used it the other week and have had good results. I used the liquid from the bottle not the wipes.
Maybe the wipes are not very good ?
