    Question What Colour HIDs?

I know, I know, ANOTHER HID thread! Sorry!

I'm getting a set for Christmas, and after reading all the squillions of posts on here I'll be going for the Ultimate kit from HIDs4U

    But what colour is best?

I know OE Xenons are 4300K, and for some reason the majority of HID kits default wth 6000K bulbs. I really don't want blue lights, I want them to look crisp white and give the maximum light output possible.

I'm leaning towards the 5000K bulbs at the moment - what does anyone think? Why is 6000K the default option on pretty much ALL the manufacturer's kits out there?

    TIA

I have 8K in mine too, love them.

But, this is personal preference, select the one "you" like the look of most, after all - it's your car.

5k is the best for light colour and amount of light you get.

The higher the value the less light they give out.

I've just got a 4300k set, I've not had chance to fit them properly yet but after a trial fit the colour is fantastic. Really bright white with a slight tint of blue.

I think this is the problem - even 8K or 10K which are practically purple will still be aeons ahead of the standard dribble of light the Vec produces.

    Pic request then please, guys?

Not the best pic but this is standard headlight against 4300k hid.

    Attachment 14314

It doesn't look as bright in the pic but trust me it is , it's just the angle it's taken from.
