when i got mine from the dvla there was the price of the plate, vat and the £80 assignment fee and then the cost of the plates, save sending all my docs through the post i went round the local dvla office and done it all over the counter...they issued me with a new tax disc and stammped the mot then i bought the plates, fitted then and bobs your uncle

No more fee's to be paid Ben. When the plate certificate arrives post it or take it along to a local DVLA Office with the log book, insurance, mot and tax and they will change it all over. Inform the insurance about reg. change and put new plates on.
It's much quicker if you go along to an office.
Do you live in Preston ? There is an office there.

As above, dead easy popping into an office. Took us about 10mins and we came out with all the paperwork, re-issued MOT etc.
