I always thought CBT stands for COMPULSARY basic training!! in other word you need this to ride any motorbike on the road.

2008 - 5 = 2003. If you passed your driving test in 2003 you will need CBT.

I have just got through the CBT and DAS training

even if you can ride a 50cc without training please ask yourself the following question

Is your life worth £70 - £100? if the answer is yes do your CBT, you will learn the basics on riding a bike safely.

also just a thought a 50cc is limited to 30mph you will be pushed into the kerb by anything on the road you may be better getting a 125cc just my thought
