Signing in from my new Mac-Book!

I have always used a pc. But my old computer was getting a bit tired and so I bought a new laptop running windows Vista. Lets just say that I HATED IT

and took it back to pc world for an exchange. After doing some homework, I dug down deep and went for a new mac-book. Being £300 more expensive than the pc laptop, I was quite apprehensive as you can imagine.
On paper, the pc was better spec - better ram, processor etc, but in practise this Mac absolutely kicks it's arse.

it really is so much quicker it's unbelievable. And it was soooo easy to set up. No more than 10 minutes from pushing the power button to typing on this forum - It just works, and I am truly amazed.

Anyone else out there running a Mac who can share their experiences?

Switched to Apple last year...haven't looked back. I have 3 now!!

We have Mac's, (Macbook=Misses Macbook Pro=Me Imac=Family) but still use bootcamp on them tho... Its a sad fact that you "need" Windows in this world...

Really? What do you use Windows for that you can't do on the macs?

Mainly for games and expensive programs that we had for the Xp/Vista. Plus, we use Windows AND Mac at work and are part of the home use program, so we can buy the programmes and Operating Systems super cheap... For Example - Office MAC 2008 and Windows Office 2007 Enterprise Edition - £15.78!!!! If you buy it from MS or PC World etc its over £500!!! OS System (Upgrade only) are only £25ish!!

Ah true, I guess most games are windows-centric. I'm not a big gamer myself so may be ok. I think I might invest in Mac Office.
Out of interest - can you get it on the cheap then ??

The good thing about Mac OS X, (Hope I dont get into trouble! - Sorry Admin!) is that you can just "drag and drop" whole "activated" programs to other Macs or to DVD etc. So you only need one copy of everything for all the Macs in your house hold.

Switched to an iMac earlier this year.No messing around with waiting for things to boot up.No pop ups and very little chance of viruses on OSX I am well happy.I looked at specs and even though the PC shows faster speeds the Macs fly due to having no clutter with 3rd party software etc.Solid alloy case and key board and a real glass screen its a work of art

Hate my plastic feeling Sony laptop now .

Best decision I have made apart from buying the 20" rather than the 24" .

Still use Windows at work so its a joy to use a Mac at home .
