    Default Effective speed trap

Wouldn't mind going on patrol in one of these. Certainly sort the boy racers out.

Did anyone see Clarkson trying to evade one of these in an Elise?

That was until the Apache backed off about half a mile and locked on in seconds. Quality.

Had the pleasure of seeing these being assembled in the flesh. A lot smaller than you think. We were told that that we were being filmed and if we let our eyes linger on the Apache for too long then we would be escorted off site.

Nice toy MLC, Derbyshire and Cheshire Constabulary use Helicopters on the Buxton to Leek and Buxton to Macclesfield roads as they say it's too dangerous to patrol with normal Patrol Cars, due to chase speeds on such dangerous roads so the helicopter just radio's to the patrol cars that are waiting in specific points, they then pull out in front to stop speeding drivers/riders, then play the video footage from the helicopter back. Most people don't even notice the helicopter

On a lighter note you could always ask your Bosses to take some Signum 3.0V6 CDTI's the same as N. Yorks have done.

Local Bobbies and military Hard ware don't mix.... Anyone Hear about the Scottish traffic cops who pointed a speed gun at a low flying Harrier?

The Gun displayed 600 mph briefly before being fried. The Chief Constable got a bit upset that his new bit of kit was spontaneously combusted and contacted the harriers base to complain. The RAF base commander met with the chief and bollocked him!

The Harrier has an automated self defence system. When the gun locked onto the harrier, the harrier locked onto the gun with an anti-radiation radar. This fried said gun. The RAF went on to explain that had the harrier been armed with anti-radiation missiles it would automatically fire destroying said gun and anything within 50m. The pilot is not able to stop this! At this point the chief ate his hat....
