Default URGENT: Everybody who has had issues with injection no.3 on the CDTI engine read this

    Hi all,

    this is very important!

I have had the known issue with injector no 3 on the CDTI engine.
It caused my engine to shut down while driving at 70 mph on the motorway. After getting the fault repaired at VX I have since emailed VX Customer Services regarding the issue and the fact that the engine shuts down while driving. They seem to not care about this and have basically told me to go away. I believe that this should have been a recall and the modification required carried out free of charge.

So I have contacted VOSA and started the ball rolling. They are very interested in this and need me to help get further evidence of the engine shutting down or where the fault has caused a safety issue, ie loss of power while driving etc.

This fault has been known about by VX for 3 years or so. They have no excuse!

I was just glad that I was the only one in the car and the M1 was not busy when my shutdown happened.

So guys please add your comments below

Doesn't sound good. What exactly happens then, and what is the cause (was not aware of a no. 3 injector issue on the 3.0CDTi).

I would have thought that it should go into some sort of limp home mode, if it just shuts the engine off then that could be very dangerous.

Let us know how you get on as I do not like the idea of mine just turning itself off with the family in it.

I had this happen to me whilst doing a high speed run on the autobahn in germany a cpl of years ago, not fun going from 130ish down to 40mph uphill! Did a temp repair as i found out what the fault was and it last me till i got home'ish, this was before it was a well known issue.

Lee, I can help out if you want me to fill out one of them forms mate.
