    Default Nasty Trim Rattle

Somewhere around the steering column, there is a nasty resonating rattle when IU pull away from a standing start. I think I've traced it to the panel at the right hand side of the centre console. I have noticed that this entire panel moves when I put gentle pressure on it - is this movement normal or is it off to the stealers and some warranty work?
    Will photgraph it if needed.

    Pics are as follows:
When I lean my left knee gentle against the side panel of the console, the rattle stops completely

Top pic should read - this is the problem panel..... I think.

2nd pic should read that entire console outer trim moves in arrowed direction under gentle pressure....

in the bottom pic theres the round blanking plug. Pop that off carefully, you'll see a torx screw head under that with a nut around it too.. The torx screw can work loose and thus in turn the nut vibrates and rattles... U can hold the torx screw still and tighten the nut up.. Worth a check

Rhanks for the reply - will take a look at it on my way to work. Although it does sound quite a loud rattle.

other option is to remove the whole centre console which is fairly easy and then you can diagnose it with it removed.

I'll have a look at it now before I go to work.
Its still in warranty, so is it worth me getting the stealer to do it - they might wash the dirt off the paint for me too!
