Default my airvents are hopeless! yours?

on 3 of my 4 vents, the bottom slat has fallen flat, and one is stuck at 45 degrees, so that's going to fall over in a few days. totally rubbish for a 3 year old/36000 mile car.
    are yours any good?
how many have fallen to bits on your car?

one centre one fell to bits initially, then then the passenger side one gave up, the bottom slat on the driver's side was at 45 degrees yesterday, today it's given up and fallen over like the rest....
must have been one of these fabled monday morning/friday afternoon builds then eh?

tried that with the first one with a bit of welding rod. it will stay in the position you leave it, but not swivel like it should, and eventually go back to horizontal. not tried with any others though, must admit.

be interested to know if it happens more in early or late cars. i'll get some used ones from somewhere or other because it bugs the hell out of me. i have a similar OCD as James May - i like to have all my air vent slats at the same angle, seeing the bottom one fully recumbent is......well.....sorry, going to have to go and rip a tissue or something..
