    Default Drink Driving??

Just had a conversation with someone, and the subject of Drink Driving came up...

What would you do, if you were in a situation(pub/club/gathering), with a group of friends, and one of the group got totally plastered, then decided to get in his/her car and drive home... You tried everything you could to stop them driving, but they did it...

Your only choice's now, are to call the Police and bubble them, or do nothing, and hope and pray they dont kill anyone, or if they do kill somoene, you will have to live with the knowledge that you may have been able to stop them.

What do you do, and why....
(This is just a hypothetical question, based on a conversation with a friend this morning)

    ohhhhh

Thats a hard one, but put yourself in the shoes of the family if he did hit / kill anyone, i for one have a concious,

If everything in my powers had been done to stop them including removing their wheels

would i report them..... am afraid i would, its not worth the risk,

i voted yes, because i speak from experience, 20 years ago i decided to ride my bike home after 2 pints, duly got stopped, during the festive period as well.
Plead guilty and got fined £350 and a 3 year ban.
Whilst i will say i never felt anything but in control, who can actually say i was.
Simple equation now, dont have a limit, just dont have a drink, i like a drink as much as the next man, but, i wont if i know i will be driving at all

Not a doubt in my mind! So long as i had tried EVERYTHING to plead with them! It wouldnt be just them responsible for killing any innocent person, or worse, family they hit, I'd feel to blame too and thats not fair on me.

Lucky for me, that my friends are not drinkers.. I would make sure that they did not have the keys; so could not drive home

Sorry to be pedantic, but thats not an option, the question is "Would you report your friends to the Police for Drink Driving??", not "Would you take their keys"

Ok, I see what you mean, the answer is YES, as it is your responsibility as a friend to make sure that it did not happen.. Image if you let you friend drive home drunk and they caused an accident, it is both of your faults..

    Definitely yes.

I would not let any of my friends drive drunk and run the high risk of injuring (or worse) themselves or any unsuspecting member of the public - not a question in my eyes - but like others have said, it would be a last resort.

By the time I'd really run out of options to stop them driving, the Police would probably need to be called....
