    Default Barstewards

I had my Bridgestones fitted yesterday, I was assured they were XL, when i looked closer they were just standard 91Y rated

Ive just spoke to the guy who fited them, he says that 91Y is an OK fitment to use on the Signum 3.0

Im not having any of it, He cant get the bridgestone i want in XL (god knows why)

So hes fitting Goodyear assymetrics tomorrow for me

Cant believe they tried to fob me off with the wrong tyres

I thought they had to be 91 rated only, XL is recommended but not mandatory.

Kwikfit did that to me but luckily I noticed before they fitted them, they then said they could not get the extra load variant there were none in the country, offered me Continentals instead, after a bit of investigation i found that the Contis were soft compound and had very high wear rates so I cancelled.

Went to another dealer STS who had plenty in their warehouse and could get them in and fitted within 4 hours, guess who go the business even though they were a few quid more expensive

To be honest, Im really shocked with the tyre dealer, they have always been superb, on price and service, The gaffer is awy at the moment so his underlings are running the place, I guess there just testing the water, wrong person to try it on with though, Ive got trading standards as number 1 in my mobile phone speed dial

There gonna get it both barrells too, had the 4 wheel alignment done but the printout reads way out on 3 sections, so they get that put right too

I think you may find that 91Y tyres are all extra load anyway. I have 19" wheels on my V6 CDTi and the original 18" tyres were 91Y.

But yes you have to have XL tyres on this application.
