    Default First Service

I am taking my car in for its first servce this morning, I hope they look after it and do not damage it in any way. I will let you all know what I think of their work "etc" when I get the car back , and then say if I recomend them so any members in the Birmingham/ Staffordshire area may want to use then..

Hope it goes OK Ed, we've discussed Midlands dealers before I think, it's useful to share our knowlege of them.

I paid £110 for my first one at Steve Thompson Walsall & they did an excellent job.

That's dead right, 18,000 miles until the computer reckons you need a service.

Yes exactly, basically the car measures things like the oil vicosity and a couple of other parameters and decides when it's gonna need doing.

I have just got back home. so far I am very pleased with the work done by WILNECOTE MOTORS of tamworth,They recomended an engine flush cost £12 but there was that emulsified gunge on the oil filler cap [due to short journeys] some thing I was aware of. It cost £140 in the end, but I did buy a little rubber mat for inside the arm rest and a sports button for below the "tc" swith on the consol, so all in all I am very pleased.

Glad they did a good job Ed. The flush is a good idea as well, keeps the oilways nice & clear.

I forgot to mention they quoted £115 for the service that is without the engine flush.
For anyone in the Birmingham/Staffordshire area I would recomend WILNICOTE MOTORS.
They are very friendly and the guy ROb in the parts department is very helpfull when you want to find some "strange parts" likt a tc or sports switch. Many thanks to Brian the servce manager for his help. The mechanice [don,t know his name] treated my car with the respect I expect . They are a very good team. Top marks to them..............
