    Default new tyres fitted

Had my new tyres fitted today

    4 225/45x17 Bridgestone RE050

    £360 all in

The fitter wasnt too happy though cos he couldnt get the tyres on the rims, took him 20mins per tyre

While I think about it, how can I tell if the tyres are XL rated, they dont say anything on the tyre walls

I think its the cold that are making the tyres a struggle to fit as I had some Goodyear F1 fiited on Monday and watched as I dont trust no one and he struggled to get the tyres and he said its the cold that makes the rubber really stiff

What ever floats your boat. Best not wear a rubber or problems may arise, or not

They should state EXTRA LOAD somewhere on them

They may also have the load and speed rating
If they are standard, they will probably be 91
If they are Extra Load, they will probably be 94
However, if they are 225/45ZR17 then the manufacturer does not have to put the load and speed rating on them, but they should still state EXTRA LOAD

In that case you then need to look for the maximum load weight
    Standard tyre is about 615kg
    Extra Load is about 650kg

Damn, the tyres just state 91Y, no sign of the words extra load on them

Yeah, your engine has 2 less cylinders than the 3.0 Its only the 3.0V6 that really should have them.
