    Default oil burner- black smoke- NOT!

    i read the other day, someone said :
    so what if they make smoke- its behind us anyways!

    WHAT smoke?
    Vectra C diesel dont produce any smoke, smoke is history!
    so what was this all about?

    mine's a bit smokey when i'm booting it...i think everyone elses diesel is the same??

    technically smoke is history, i.e. it's in the past i.e it's behind you. which is what you heard anyway so everything is right with the universe.

    Ours does - this is the smoke from the chimney from the vent off one exhaust side on the rolling road.

    I've not seen that tailpipe in the Irmsher catalogue!

    no mate, all the Vectra C facelift are EURO 4, and they mustn't smoke!
    EURO 4 means almost nothing gets out, not to mention prahistoric black smoke.
    so if your's smoking , take it to VX service and do something about it!
    God dam. do you know that Vectra A TD does not produce any smoke if its in good conition (new). The C , its out of the question!

    I think you are missing what was said in the thread this is refering to. The thread in question was talking about tuning boxes and the effects it has on the amount of smoke produced. Fitting a tuning box and then turning it up to produce maximum power does sometimes produce smoke due to the amount of fuel being pumped in to the common rail.
    The EURO 4 emissions are out of the window!
