I got one as soon as they came out to replace my old K800i (which was a really good phone and renowned for it's camera)

The c905 really is excellent. The camera is really good. It's easy to use as it follows on from previous Sony Ericssons, and the screen is glass so hopefully no scratches (none yet!).

    The only letdowns are
    1) it takes ages to get a gps fix using the inbuilt gps
    2) the keypad isn't as easy to use as it could be.
    3) Vodafone screw up the firmware so it's not intuitive to browse the internet using wifi rather than the mobile network.

    I'd certainly recommend it anyway.

    Hope that helps you decide!

My missus got one, she said it took a bit of getting use to but she had an LG Shine before.

Another comment was "the bl**dy space bar has changed again" but the camera is superb.

    She got hers from '3' - phone free - for £25p/m with 500 units a month (1 unit = 1min or 1txt)

Became a member there before getting the C905 and contributed to some of the threads regarding the WIFI issues, and general problems around the vodafone firmware. (It's mainly problems with the Vodafone firmware that people complain about, but I know that there are similar problems with Orange firmware too)

However, there are workarounds for most of the firmware issues, and taking everything into account it's still a fantastic phone.

It is a bit on the bulky side, and it's fairly weighty, but everyone I know who's got one thinks it's also great.

I would suggest trying one first as it might not be to everyones tastes, but you can send it back within 14 days if you don't like it!

I looked at it a short while ago as it had just come out as I was looking to upgrade my SE 800i. I wanted something a bit neater/slimmer than than the K800i so the C905 went straight off the list as it was even bulkier. Settled for the C902 as it's really slim and camera is as good as the K800 - but I just love the fact that it's so slim and no lens cover to get snagged/bulge due to the way the whole edge of one side of the phone slides out to reveal the lens.

Regarding the Vodafone customisation screwing up the operability of the phone - I found the same on the K750i I had before the K800 but a quick visit to http://davinciteam.co.uk/index.html soon had the phone reflashed back to the standard SE firmware.

Interestingly I did the same on the K800i and actually preferred how it had been with the Vodafone flavour so went back to that and with the C902 I've not bothered yet as it seems to work nicely with the Vodafone version.
