OK, now things have got really strange.

Drove to work this morning, front and back foot wells were slightly damp (from where I had dried them on Sunday). Left car at work on flat surface car park (no camber or slopes). When I got back to my car 8 hours later front passenger foot well was practically dry, rear passenger side foot well SOAKED!!! There had been no rain. Checked door surround, roof, boot seal, trim, centre console, under seat, under door seals, windows, everywhere I could think of and they were all bone dry!

The only thing I can think of is that there is a hole in the foot well, but that still does not make sense as the carpet got soaked on Saturday when it was raining and the car was stationary (unless it was reverse rain, but I'm pretty sure I would have noticed that!).

From Duncan's comments it appears that all of the Aircon drainage is at the front, so this can't have been leaking into the back (unless it is coming down the centre console, but that was all dry so I can't see that).

All of the Windows seem to be OK, I cannot see any marks on the black behind the glass showing where water would be coming in.

I really can't think of anywhere else to check. Can anyone suggest anything that I might have missed?

I hope that someone can help.

    Thanks

    Trev

Have you ascertained if the the condensate from the AC is getting out the drain plug? i.e. running it for a bit and seeing if the car 'has a wee'.

The drain plug is, from memory, maybe more inline with the rear of the front seats - so if it's blocked then it may be escaping elsewhere?

    Certainly one to check first.

    Thanks Duncan,

Drove to work with Aircon on this morning (was very cold!!!). Got out of car at work and could not see any water coming out. Car did not seem any wetter inside either though.

I will check it this evening to see if the inside is any wetter.

If the Aircon drain is towards the middle of the car, where does it run? Is it under the car or down under the centre arm rest?

I'm not sure where the drain runs from, but I'd have thought it would be from where the heating controls/matrix are and out and under the car, given where the drain pipe is visible underneath. I can't see it running internally in the car.

You can still use the heater with the AC on. The relevant bits will still condensate up regardless of what you set the internal temperature knob to. Basically you would be doing what climate control would be doing.

Still no progress on this. Been raining overnight, front and back passenger footwells both have about half an ich of water slopping about in them. Have had the Glove box out faor about a month, nothing is wet under there. Door tim and panels at side of footwell (under doors) all dry and not showing any signs of wetness. Have filled the washer bottle with strongest smelling screen wash I could find so if it were screen wash leak I would smell it, still nothing. It does seem to be worse when raining. Car as been relatively dry since Christmas, but the rain over the last few days has definitely been getting in.

Seems that the rear footwell is getting the water first, then the front, not sure if it is filling the back, and then spilling over to the front.

    Anyone have any other ideas?

Also I've seen a couple of posts elsewhere referring to Drainage Holes in the door. I can't find these, anyone have any ideas where they are?

    Thanks

Could you have a leak in the rear quarter light window and it is running into the rear footwell?

I don't think so, the surround of the window is dry so is the chair, the boot and the parcel shelf. Is there anywhere else the water would be able to go from there?
