Is the 2.2 engine in the Vec C the same as the one in the Vec B?

The 2.2 petrol engine, Is it the same unit, prone to timing chain failure?

The 2.2 in the Vectra C should have the newer oil jet nozzle as mine did on a 2002 reg (52 plate). The early Vectra C engine is the same as the Vectra B, then a bit later the engine changes for the direct Z22YH engine.

Although a few did have the "bad" jets, they seemed to slip through the net. Benny - user on here - knows much more about it.

i believe the z22se was given a new lease of life in 2001 when vx had the prone parts upgraded to beter quality parts.

Mine is a 53 plate and my jet was the smaller type ;( Got it changed before it caused problems so year means nothing . Vauxhall said the chain\jet issues were resolved in the C but it seems it wasn't the case.

that'll be vx for ya m8 like it says in an earlier thread the timing chain issues should have been resolved in 2001.
