Default If you ever need to get a hard copy of a text message

I was asked if it was possible to get txts’ off a phone (txts were stored on the phone and could not be moved to memory card) as they wanted to keep a record of them.

The phone is a nokia 6300.

If you go to the nokia web site (I used the .co.uk site) and download “PC Suite” for your make of nokia - it allows you to view the messages on your PC (going by the info on various forums I think pre 7.0 versions had problems with txt messages).

When you connect the phone via USB you need to select Nokia mode on the phone.

If you select messages option, on the virtual phone, you can view all the current messages on the phone. If you select the message you are interested in it shows the details (From who, when and message content) and the option to print.

I think it is easier on more modern phones to get to the txt messages, but FYI just in case you need to get a hard copy of a txt someone sent you.

I use O2's 'Bluebook'.Using a password / Username, it saves all your ingoing / outgoing texts on it's database via O2's website, then you can select one's to save inc. who it was off etc, and print them out etc. But obviously, you need to be an O2 customer, but it's very handy........Although, what does that mean for privacy, if they are stored on an online server? Who else can access your texts? Hmmmmm

Hi VV, the phone was being returned/exchanged and the messages were stored on the phone - with no facility to store the messages in a different location or move them to a plug in card

The simple method if you can see the message on the PC screen is to press "print screen" then open word or wordpad and paste into the document,
