i was just wondering if you can get a turbo for a 1.8 sri and if so would it ruin engine after a while. if not ill have to go out and buy a vxr

wont suit my caravan lol.

Yep, take a look at Regals web site. But at £3800 and the rest, its not cheap.

Dont think you can tow using a VXR?

I thought Vectra VXR couldnt fit a tow bar ?

Could be wrong though...

Turbo conversion is major work = £££s. Sometimes supercharger conversions are relatively straightforward, but still talking about thousands £s for one of those too, probably.
^So yeah- I'd save up a little and just get a 2.0T, first as last. Have you seen how low the prices for these cars are now?

I have

. Unless you're into engine reconstruction, better to get a car with a purpose-built turbocharged unit, like the one in the 2.0T, which is effectively a Saab unit, and Saab have been at or near the head of the field in turbocharging mainstream petrol engines for what seems like ages.

If I had the money i would buy a turbo kit for the 2.2 as it would then be very unique and a hell of alot of power

Same Engine as the 2.0T but with a longer stroke so the Turbo parts can just bolt on.

Supercharging the 2.2 has been done quite a few times now, go on, be the first in a vec C

No need to lower the compression ratio on the 2.2 even? Be surprised if that was the case - obviously can be done, but you've got to know what you're doing.
If reliability is a major consideration, have to agree with the other post about the Saab/GM 2.0T unit. What Saab don't know about petrol turbo engines, simply isn't worth knowing
