Default HID vs headlight (it's dark out there).

Had my HIDs fitted for about a month with no problems. Tonight came out of work, no passenger side headlight working, check bulb warning on.

So, checked all connections, no go.

Ripped HID out, replaced standard bulb in headlight - still no light but check bulb has cleared.

The other side continues to work 100%.

Checked the 10A fuse under the bonnet, it's intact.

All other lights in the lighting unit work OK.

Is it likely a failed HID unit has cooked something, or are there other fuses elsewhere in the car?

Driving both ways to work in the dark, I'm really hoping this is a simple fix.

Try disconnecting the battery for a couple of mins, it seemed to fix mine when it did the same.

I'll try that in the morning pricey, if it doesn't reset itself overnight. I'd hate to have to set my clock/radio/etc all again.

If you just take it off for a few seconds then it won't loose the clock or radio settings, or at least mine didn't on Sunday.

Well, got it going again, popped out the 10A fuse for the lights, and it's working again.

So, 1 normal headlight bulb and 1 HID on the other side at the moment until I can get either a new HID kit or can source decent halogens.

Most HiD kit sellers offer a 12 month (+) guarantee anyway, so _ZS_ dependant on when you got the kit, you should be able to get a replacement part no worries - its usually the ballast that fails.

Yeah, the ballast is dead short. It's also totally ancient, got them over 3 years ago so they don't owe me much.

Probably go for a new kit, standard bulbs are a bit poo. Well, 1 standard bulb and 1 HID at the moment.
