    Default Removing the mesh gauze around the airflow meter

    i have been told that this can be removed carefully,but does it actually do anything performance wise for the 2.2 sri

    As GSI said leave it, Just incase some foreign object might find its way past the airfilter.

    Because many people are not very clued up. I did alot of testing on this on my Zafira GSi a few years back, it made no difference what so ever, and the air flow meter lasted about a month before a peice of crap hit the sensor itself.

    This was on a Courtenay stage 3 as well where you would hope to see a difference, my advice would be to leave it in place.

    Trying to tune a 4 cylinder normally aspirated car is very hard and very expensive, the VXR air intake pipe, K&N filter and iridium plugs you have described in your signature, may improve response slightly, but overall power may not even have changed.
