    Default HID question

Hi guys I'm new to the site and I don't actually own a Vectra, this is a question regarding my brothers 2004 1.9 cdti sri so bare with me. I'm looking to buy him a HID kit for Christmas, I have fitted this kit on my car (e36 323i) and I've had no problems with it at all, so I was thinking about trying to fit the same kit on the Vectra. However I've had a look at the fitting guide for the MTEC kit on here and it looks a bit more complicated than fitting it on the e36! The main differences being the pink block connector and the white box wiring (prevents bulb failure warnings I beleive) and also the clip that holds the xenon bulb seems to cause a few issues. So, a couple of questions really, is the dipped beam bulb in a 2004 vectra H1 or H7? And has anyone here tried fitting the ebay kit in the link above with any success?

    Any help will be appreciated

    Cheers
    Dan

The dipped beam bulb is H7 and i personnally wouldn't use that kit, would pay a bit more for a kit and get one with some warranty like this one...............

I have this kit and it "now" works fine. I needed bulb warning cancellers to get it working (even then its guaranteed to work with the Vectra C) - the seller did sort these out for me at no extra cost, so might be worth mentioning if you buy this kit.

To be honest with you dan323ci, I would get the kit you linked, but get some cancellers too, and you'll be fine.

I fitted the 'Ultimate' kit from HIDs4U. There are no add on bits to overcome bulb failure warning it's just a box & separate starter - it's shot up in price though

I am having an absolute mare with this guy J_A_M_Performance

Ordered on 5th November from ebay and still no cancellers. He keeps sending me emails promising them by "such and such" and the latest deadline is tomorrow

If they are not here by then I will be going through the dispute process.

Personally in hindsite I wish I had bought the MTec kit

I've also got the www.HIDS4U.co.uk Ultimate kit - it's pretty much "plug n play" and also comes with the correct bulb holders you'll need for a Vectra. As for the price - make them an offer... I did and they said yes.

He did that with me, took me 3 weeks from me requesting the cancellers to actually receiving them - but be safe in the knowledge that when they come, it will work fine

They were on special offer when I bought mine - about £150 delivered IIRC - as Thomas1 said, make them an offer it's always worth a try!

I bought the hid kit from hids-direct on ebay 2 weeks ago for £79.99 plus postage it comes with everything you need including bulb holders and resistor box to stop bulb errors. It is fantastic and would highly recomend it. Alot cheaper than mtec.
