1.9 cdti full decat system...

i am planing to have a full exhaust system inc de-cat(powerflow custom system)...the question is will this make the car sound much louder...ive had it done on petrols before due to getting it faster but dont know what to make of the noise on a diesel as its my first diesel car...,,,cheers guys

Err, Mine makes a massive amount of noise! More than the origional VXRs which gave me a head ache after a ten minute drive. First thing I'm doing when I get back it modifying the exhaust to quieten it down.

iv found you dont get what you should from decating the cdti and the cats do help to keep the noise down

Have no problem with mine, de-cat as well. Noise is reasonable and not too loud. Had mine done at MIJ in Walsall @ £275. They removed the middle box as well and all I am left with is a back box attached. I noticed a difference, less turbo lag and it seemed to pull that bit better. Then I got the BSR remap and have not looked back!

Yep get this everytime mention de-cating a car. Do you fly anywhere on holiday? leave a light on longer than you should? Insulated your loft etc? Use energy saving bulbs? Turn all your electrical items off at night or when not being used? Inflate your tyres to the correct pressure? Service your car at the correct intervals? Walk or use a bike instead of a car for short journeys? Use the train for longer journeys? Use public transport instead of your car? Do you own a car? Buy goods from China? Do you plant trees to offset your carbon footprint? Recycle everything you possibly can? Before you start using the words immoral just check what you do yourself first. If I or anyone else wants to de-cat a car we should not get this immoral thing everytime.
