hi guys my 06 plate veccys aircon seems to have packed in. I dont hear it coming on anymore any ideas what it might be im gonna try a re gas and see if that helps failing that is it coverd under warranty?

I don't think I can hear mine turn on but it works well. My girlfriend Renault definatley didn't make a sound when turning the AC on. A recharge and it worked fine.

i kinda mean that you usually hear the engine change tone for a second and then its back to normal once alt catches up with new load

Thats usually the fan kicking in - maybe its that that's packed in....

I may be wrong but i think the air con doesn't work if the outside temperature is below 5 degrees - but don't quote me on that. If i'm wrong i'm sure someone will let me know.

Never heard of that one. I use my air con in winter if my windows start to steam up during normal driving (with the heater on full heat) and it certainly works in temps below 5 C.

read somewhere that the compressor on the a/c wont kick in when the gas is low to protect it, or something like that

At low outside temperatures the cooling
unit (cooling compressor) switches off
automatically.
As copied from the owners manual if that helps.
